Our mission is to faithfully reproduce the songs, sounds, and visuals that make U2’s impact so enduring. Radio 45 (as U245) is able to present U2’s sound with precision — acquiring special amplifiers, guitars and specialized media gear for that purpose.
Pittsburgh-based recording artist Radio 45, ardent fans of U2, have crafted a special 90-minute tribute to Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. Under the moniker U245. As U245 they celebrate the best of U2 with a focus on their iconic Joshua Tree era.
The Joshua Tree era, a pinnacle of U2’s career, merges rock with a profound, spiritual depth. U245’s tribute highlights this period, faithfully reproducing the album’s rich, atmospheric qualities. Performances at select venues include customized U2 video footage synchronized to the live band resulting in an even deeper connection to the music.
In their 90-minute set, U245 explores some of U2’s most memorable tracks, including:
- “Where the Streets Have No Name” – Capturing its epic, soaring quality.
- “With or Without You” – Showcasing Bono’s emotive vocals and The Edge’s distinctive guitar effects.
- “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” – Featuring its gospel influences and introspective lyrics.
- “Bullet the Blue Sky” – Emphasizing its intense, politically charged energy.
Radio 45 has also re-recorded and released their version of “I Will Follow” from U2’s early album Boy, now available on Spotify, Apple Music and all major streaming platforms.
In addition to their Joshua Tree focus, U245 touches on several B-sides and live versions from across U2’s decades-long career, providing a comprehensive view of the band’s evolution. Gary, Aaron, Scotto and Msexy are seasoned players able to recreate U2’s signature sound live as authentically as possible. Their performances include unique elements and personal touches, a must-see for all U2 fans!

As a seasoned musician with over a dozen recording projects available on Spotify and Apple Music, Scotto brings his extensive experience to U245. He expertly handles all bass guitar, keyboard, and sound effects for the project, including the crucial ethereal sound layers. Live, Scotto combines bass guitar with bass pedals to deliver a rich, multifaceted performance.
Gary is a highly sought-after lead vocalist and consummate frontman in Western Pennsylvania. He has led numerous original and cover band projects, most recently fronting the long-running and successful Bon Jovi/Journey tribute band, Bon Journey. Gary's impressive vocal range continues to set him apart, whether he's recording original music or hitting the high, gravelly notes of U2's Bono. Gary was profoundly influenced by U2’s Joshua Tree and Achtung, Baby records as a young lad.
Starting guitar at age 11 and now in his late 40s, Aaron's chameleon-like musical adaptability allows him to fit perfectly into nearly any style of music. As a member of U245, he has meticulously recreated the delay-driven guitar tones of The Edge, faithfully capturing the classic U2 sound that the band performs live.
Mark, a seasoned veteran of the western Pennsylvania club scene, masterfully employs both acoustic drum kits and advanced electronic kits — both live and in the studio — to replicate the iconic rhythms, beats, and fills of Larry Mullen Jr. Known for his distinct style, Mark proudly carries the “Msexy” moniker, which features prominently on U245’s merchandise and tees.
